Covleo Organic Calendar |
April 12, 2013What is the golden parachute that allows a farmer to enjoy the golden years that might follow a productive life? For the small farmer that would be the trees planted, now bearing fruit and nuts. Covelo Organic vegetables & flowers has begun a twenty fifth season of production for CSA members. We will also sell at markets in Covelo, Willits, Ukiah and Fort Bragg and wholesale to retail stores and restaurants in Mendocino County. The Garlic got weeded and dressed with compost and is already flavorful for green garlic prior to cloving up in june. The carrots, beets, turnips, parsnips, cilantro, spinach & peas have all been direct sown a month ago and have successfully emerged in rows along their raised beds. Cabbage, cauliflower, onions, kale, collards and potatoes have been planted out. Summer starts are filling the greenhouse. It is looking good for 2013: will you become a member and enjoy our harvest? Sincerely, Tom Palley 2013 Community Supported AgricultureThe 2013 CSA season begins in June. The cost is $550 for 22 weeks, and $500 for 25 weeks for Covelo residents.
